Suzanne R. Smith, COO (Chief Organizational Officer).

I was born with a wondrous eye.  Growing up in San Francisco, my Barbie Dream House was immaculate – Barbie’s clothes organized by color. By the ninth grade, having moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia, I devised a clothing chart, which hung in my closet.  At the end of each day, I recorded the outfit I had worn to school – in an effort to ensure that I would not repeat the same outfit too quickly. Visits to friends’ homes, found me rearranging furniture in my head and imagining rooms painted a more interesting color.

I attended American University in Washington, D.C and graduated with a degree in Visual Communication, a field in which my wondrous eye proved useful.  After college, I returned to San Francisco and began my career in the fashion industry as an assistant buyer. Subsequent jobs ensued – in product development and fabric research and development - working for high profile companies such as Levi Strauss and Co, The Limited and Urban Outfitters.   My exposure to color, proportion and beauty was all day, every day – whether sitting in my office or traveling to the far reaches of the globe in pursuit of fashion. It was at this stage in my life, that I began painting the interiors of my closets to match my hangars…

At some point friends began asking me for help with their homes and their wardrobes. Does this sofa go with my chairs? Does this dress look good on me? I have too much stuff – can you help me sort through it?  I began to realize how happy I was doing this and, more importantly, how happy my friends were with the results.

In 2017 and living in Los Angeles,  I left the fashion industry to pursue my passion for organizing, curating and editing and Eye Wondrous was born.
